Wildwood is a place where difference is not accepted and accommodated; it’s embraced and celebrated. Kareem has found a home with dedicated and compassionate teachers who are passionate about supporting his learning journey, and a group of peers who are kind and welcoming of exceptionality. The teaching philosophy and methodology, the curriculum, and the facilities are all designed with intention to ensure that our children receive quality education and care. We have found our tribe.

Our experience at Wildwood Academy has been exceptional. The school management, teachers and principal are outstanding at their jobs. Our son struggled at his previous private school but has excelled at Wildwood Academy and built a solid foundation for future learning. He has made new friends and is now seen as a role model for other students. Wildwood is a place of lifetime educators who truly understand child development and learning. They go out of their way to get to know your child and support your child's individual needs. They prioritize the child above all. It is also a warm and friendly community of people who support and care about each other. We cannot recommend Wildwood Academy enough!

The school operates on a structured timetable that fosters an optimal learning environment. Morning sessions are intensively academic, focusing on core subjects through repetitive and engaging methods. This repetition has not led to boredom; instead, it has established a secure and confidence-boosting routine, especially for children with special needs. Post-lunch sessions bring a lighter and more varied schedule where students participate in physical education, arts, drama, and clubs. This diversity allows students to explore different interests and talents, contributing to a well-rounded educational experience. Elsa's successful adaptation to the school's environment is noteworthy. The supportive, embracing, and consistent educational framework has allowed her to thrive academically and socially, turning what was once a daunting experience into a delightful and enriching journey.

Our son has been attending Wildwood Academy for a year, we have seen a tremendous change in his development. Wildwood Academy has been nurturing, academically focused and a safe haven all at the same time. We are grateful to have found such a unique and exceptional school for our son.

[My son] progressed to a level I wouldn't have imagined. The personal approach to each kid is unique and special. The feedback from the teachers about daily routines is amazing. I have no words to describe my gratitude to Wildwood Academy. Thank you, Wildwood, for your dedication!

Andy enjoys every day in Wildwood. He is more accepted and respected. He started to make friends and learn to maintain his friendship. He started to take initiative to participate in some events, like Cross Country, Field Track and Relay. His teachers understand very well what he is struggling with in academic and social development and provide direct and efficient help to him. He treats Wildwood as his second home. Thank you so much for creating such a warm, acceptable education environment.

Alumni - Where are they now?

Before I started at Wildwood Academy, I was coming out of a rough year from a previous school. My confidence was at an all-time low and my parents were anxious about my future. All of those anxieties as well as my own confidence changed once I started in 2005. Wildwood understood my needs and allowed me to develop my full potential by teaching the subject matter in a way that made sense in the way I processed information. By the time I graduated from Wildwood in 2011, I went from being a struggling kid to a strong and confident person with a strong affinity for mathematics and would later achieve greater success with top marks in mathematics and physics in high school and achieved a university masters degree with a specialization in structural engineering. None of this would have been possible had I not gone to this amazing institution. Wildwood Academy literally changed the course of my life and I am forever grateful.

My son has many complex executive functioning challenges that don’t align with the typical Public School System’s buckets or “labels”. By the time we found Wildwood Academy my son had been through 4 different schools and was only in grade 4. The public system had failed my son and our family so drastically, I never thought my son would recover. The staff and admin at Wildwood were committed to helping my son unlearn all the negative responses and outcomes that were ingrained after years of negative experience. It took time and it was not an easy path but slowly my son was starting to understand triggers and strategies to deal with them appropriately and he was provided the space to do so. Now in his second year of high school, my son is a completely different kid. Socially and academically he is thriving, his confidence is climbing and he knows how to manage anxiety and conflict in a positive way. All these strategies he learned at Wildwood. Wildwood is different. They get it. For any kid that doesn’t fit in the box, this is the place to be.

So often I reflect on the journey Max has taken with his education and never forget the lessons he learned from Wildwood. These lessons and Max’s hard work have proven to be so successful for Max. I truly believe the practises and learning skills that Max brought away from Wildwood have given him the tools he needs on a daily basis. He studies hard, he asks questions, he never hesitates to have someone proofread his material and he is disciplined with his homework. He is confident. Bravo Wildwood! Max is graduating from Grade 12 Academic courses in June from Oakville Trafalgar HS. He is graduating with honors and has had early acceptance into his first choice university with an average of 93%. He will be attending the University of Waterloo in September, studying in their co-op program majoring in Astrophysics. The university accepted Max without any knowledge of his IEP and learning disability. He has done this on his own! I just wanted to share one of your success stories. Thank you again.

As parents of a former student who has graduated from Wildwood Academy, we are pleased to be able to offer our opinion of the excellent educational experience that our child enjoyed in his 4 years at the school. In our search for educational excellence, we have had experience at no less than 4 other public and private schools prior to starting at Wildwood. At Wildwood, we were able to observe and were encouraged to be a part of the significant and meaningful development of our child's academic, social and emotional progress, and this process was initiated almost immediately. We feel that the entire organisation and, most notably, the gifted and dedicated teachers, were responsible for a transformation in our son that has allowed him to enter high school in an academic stream, despite his ongoing challenges. For this we are not only grateful, but are also confident that there is no equal experience available within our geographic area. We would recommend Wildwood Academy to any parents of a child who may have educational challenges. Those who are seeking a high-quality educational experience for their child will not be disappointed.

My husband and I feel fortunate that we are able to send our daughter to Wildwood Academy for her last three years leading up to entering high school. This particular school is extraordinary in every way. The academic program is excellent and the teachers are dedicated to the development of the whole child. They nurture academic, social and emotional development like no other school. Wildwood Academy has an atmosphere that is positive and friendly, accommodating a variety of different learning styles. Small classes and a hands on approach allow each child the opportunity to succeed. Teachers and school leadership are intelligent, skilled experts who care deeply. A refreshing change that proved invaluable to our daughter ’s current success in high school. Our favourite memory will always be her graduation. It was evident to us that she had truly transformed during her time at Wildwood into a confident and capable young lady. We whole heartedly would recommend this school to anybody wanting to make a difference in their children’s education. Thank you Wildwood Academy!

My son had very little self-confidence and had been convinced he couldn't read before attending Wildwood. He started at Wildwood Academy in Grade 2 and was placed in the 4:1 class. With the wonderful support and encouragement from the Wildwood team, he was quickly able to regain his self confidence and master the school work with great success. He is finishing his final year in Grade 8 and I am so proud of the young man he is today. He is above grade level in many subjects and I am so thankful for our time at Wildwood. The teachers have truly touched our lives and played a very important role in helping my son to get where he is. Thank you Wildwood.

Dear Team Wildwood, I wanted to write and say THANK YOU! When we first came to Wildwood we were in a hopeless state. Since becoming a member of the Wildwood family we have seen an incredible change in our sons ability to learn and comprehend. We always believed, he had the ability to learn, but could not find the environment to achieve any level of success. The past three years at Wildwood have given our son the confidence and success to believe in himself and has proven, that although his path is not always easy, he has the ability to face the challenge and come out a winner. Jill and I thank you for doing what so many others could not. Your dedication, patience and spirit has been a blessing for our whole family.

Our son looks forward to going to school everyday and always has a smile on his face as he opens the doors at Wildwood Academy. He feels so encouraged and supported by the school and we've seen a significant growth in his academic learning and self-confidence. At his request, he ventured off to an overnight camp for two weeks in the summer, which is really a testament to how successful the staff at Wildwood have been at empowering him.

Our family moved from southwestern Ontario to Oakville so that our daughter could attend Wildwood Academy. It was an uncertain time for our family. Five years later, we are astounded at the growth our daughter has made both academically and socially. We are certain that we would not have seen these gains without the commitment of Wildwoods outstanding staff. Our daughter has found a place where she can learn and grow. A place where she belongs.

“Best School Ever”. These are the words my daughter recently used to describe Wildwood Academy. Over the past 4 years, our child has been attending a special school where she has learned, grown and matured in ways that we only dreamt of. With the specialized programming and the nurturing environment, we can confidently say Wildwood is the ideal model of education for any child.
Wildwood Family
In a world where people with varying abilities are not completely understood or accepted, we feel that our daughter and our family belong at Wildwood Academy. Wildwood is a place where kids can start on the road to reaching their full potential. It is a place where families can grow together and believe in the future of these very special and valuable kids.

The school provides children with both roots and wings while providing parents with both direction and hope. You cannot ask for more than that.
